WP Photo Challenge: Near and Far

We have crossed this track so many times.   It lies between 2 of our farms and is a short cut during planting and harvest allowing us to avoid the highway with our large slow-moving equipment.

A train carrying George W Bush passed through here during a Presidential Campaign.   My daughter, our dog Ralph, and I walked back to the crossing to see the President.   Helicopters buzzed over us as we waited. The train passed and George and Barbara Bush were standing on the platform of the last car as they approached our small town.   We waved our American flags.  George shouted out to us, “What’s your dog’s name?”  We stood there speechless!   A moment to remember.
