C.S.Lewis got it right. The reason I follow a blog is because I feel a connection with that writer. It’s not necessarily the theme or header of a person’s blog that I notice first…. it’s what that blogger is writing about. Many of my favorite bloggers share my love of music. Several of them create beautiful photography and original poetry. A few of them write about their spiritual side. Some are bloggers who are of my generation and have grown up experiencing the same events, ideas, philosophies…. we have some shared history together. A few of my favorites share memories as I do for future generations to read.
On days that I am mostly alone, I find it comforting to know that there are ideas, pictures, music, and stories that I can relate to… and they are just a click away. It’s like having your best friend waiting for just me, in the next room, all of the time.
And so I sing a little song to all of my faves…… ♪♫ I will follow you ♪♫

Hi Ruth! First, thanks for mentioning me in your list–what a blessing that is today!! And I agree with you–blogging is all about “connection” for me. I could write my poetry and tell myself how great it is–I don’t need the blog for that. The point of my blog is that I needed a family and friends–people who didn’t mind putting up with me for a couple minutes a day. I hope that doesn’t sound too pitiful, as I’m not whining about being “alone”–but it’s nice to chat with folks from all over, find those similarities that make you laugh and cry, and go, “wow, that’s amazing!” God bless you Big, Ruth–love, crazy sis Caddo

A dear friend introduced me to C.S. Lewis and my world has been brighter ever since.. Thank you for following my blog. I too go for humor, good posts with a message..I don’t tend to follow bloggers that cuss every other word. To me that shows how limited their vocabulary is (I hope that did not sound sassy).

The CS Lewis quote is perfect for describing the feeling of connection with new bloggers. It feels self-affirming when we find each other – it’s always comforting to know there are members of our tribe ‘out there.’
