Week 7? How did I miss week 6?
Woe is me…. I vowed to do this every week and sadly I am behind AGAIN!
Well I will still give it a shot. (Disclaimer: Thoughts shared at 3:41 AM may have no meaning whatsoever to anyone but me.)
Your favorite place within two hours of your home?
Well this should be an easy answer because I seldom get anywhere more than 2 hours away. I am pretty much a homebody, so I have to say my favorite place is our farm pond which is about 2 seconds away from my home, if you want to get specific. It’s my replacement for the beach. In fact, every couple of summers I beg my husband to haul in a couple of dump truck loads of sand to add to our little beach and then I walk around and squish it between my toes and pretend the waves are gonna come crashing into me any minute. Then I climb in the paddle boat and search for froggies. It’s a great place to spend early mornings, middays, early evenings, even late at night when the stars are reflected in the dark calm water….
What is your favorite TV show or movie of all time (for example can watch it over and over again and quote lines from it)?
I like a few TV shows. My latest find is Downton Abbey. Also love Breaking Bad, Dexter, and Six Feet Under. But I never get so obsessed that I can remember lines or sometimes even plots! Not much of a movie buff although I really enjoyed watching “The Patriot” and could watch it over and over and cry every time!
Where do you eat breakfast?
Here at my computer while I check email, facebook, and WordPress. 2 Lowfat Eggo Wafflles from the toaster, spread with just a tad of peanut butter (sigh) , percolated coffee with a splash of French Vanilla. Too much information?
(hmmmm, time to clean the peanut butter off of the keyboard again)
What is your most favorite smell/scent?
I like sandalwood and also patchouli! (child of the 60’s)
Thanks to Cee for coming up with these questions! I will try harder to keep up.
I was so bummed when they stopped making the patchouli cologne/perfume!

Movie could rewatch over and over…”Dirty Dancing” with Patrick Swayze…
and Sands and Sable Cologne (perfume)…I say I could almost drink it…That good!…

now owned by someone else…but, they love it like we did…otherwise…
I will take my own back yard…Breakfast in front of the TV watching weather and
news to start my day…loved all of your answers…fun questions…

Oh Ruth, you’re wonderful!! I love that you can pretend the pond is the ocean–that’s my idea of childlike wonder and limitless imagination, a great talent to have in this life we live. By the way, I got the instructions for defragging my PC and read them over–haven’t braved the task yet, but I’m sure I will. What’s the worst that can go wrong–I’ll blow up my computer, lose all my files, and Caddo Veil will be nothing more than an urban myth…the earth will continue spinning. God bless you big–love, sis Caddo

I remember having patchouli oil essence for a long time. Downton Abbey is one of my favorites too. I love how you explained your pond … how very delightful!

Patchouli brings back memories, just like the songs from the 60’s….. makes me think of tie-dyed shirts, bellbottoms, fringed vests, long hair, and hippie beads. I was only a hippie wannabee but it was fun.
Great questions, by the way!

I wish I had a pond! I have a ‘swale’ (a storm water runoff ‘ditch’) that runs along the back of my property; I pretend it’s natural and call it my ‘creek’. My favourite place nearby would be the ‘lookout’ park about 1 mile from my house (I walk there regularly in the good weather); it’s tiny but has benches that face the lake and I can watch the ducks and geese and swans float by. I love being near the water (our local beach – a 5 minute drive way, where I spend at least a day a week in the summer – is a favourite spot too). I’d have to say BBC documentaries and shows are my favourite things to watch on TV (stuff like Planet Earth and Life, Coast; also the Inspector Lewis mysteries and – I probably shouldn’t admit this but – Top Gear). I’m boring when it comes to breakfast – I sit at the kitchen table. My favourite smell is vanilla (I love a vanilla candle!)

You are lucky to be so close to a real beach! Sounds like we are both Great Pretenders! My second favorite smell would be vanilla —yes to vanilla candles… I never get tired of them.
