An unpleasant memory for me….. I had a real jerk for a boss one year and I was carrying a load of books down the hallway to the office. Little did I know that the carpet mats at the entrance to the office had been rolled up for cleaning. I don’t have great vision anyway so I proceeded to trip over the mat, falling forward, dropping all the books and losing my glasses that slid across the hallway, right in front of my boss.
He looked at me and said (are you ready for this?) “You should really watch where you are going.” and walked back into the office. The secretary saw what had happened and came running out to see if I was all right and to help me pick everything up.
To this day, I cannot imagine every treating another human being like that. What an #$?*!
That’s awful! What an idiot. You are obviously awesome.=) http://bellesbazaar-heather.blogspot.com/2013/10/fall-five-minute-post.html

If I had a choice to be you or he, I’d always choose to be you and fall every Friday if that is what it took to remain being you, who has heart and soul. I can’t imagine what it must have been like to be a person, such as him, who must have built up concrete walls around himself so as not to ever touch the human heart. A sad existence for this human being. Most likely he was deeply more miserable than you.

they must have not seen him in action…unbelievable!…
I hope you didn’t have to work with him for very long…

Several years, actually. Luckily I was able to avoid him most of the time.

It always stuns me that people can be so insensitive, uncaring and thoughtless.

I agree… you would think that after a certain age, we would not be so surprised, but i am still shocked at times.

Well, that’s a good response to the prompt, but what an awful man. He got his one day – or he’ll get it. People like that usually do.

He did get his. I won’t elaborate.

Wow! Your former boss is a “real gentleman,” you could have been seriously hurt. One has to wonder how he looks in the mirror each night. Glad you got through the incident with no broken bones.

Thanks.. I did have a bruised knee but that was not what hurt the most. It’s a very hurtful feeling when someone disregards your well being.

Oh my goodness, what a cretin, misogynist, etc etc etc (swear words). I’ve had insensitive, conscienceless bosses too–so I know. God bless you BIG–love, sis Caddo

Yes, Sis, all those names fit him to a T! A good time to remember all the wonderful bosses I have had over the years as well. Thank goodness there were more good than not.

I like Heidi’s comment, what a horrible little man. It’s much nicer than what I was thinking.

Just as well he was your boss only for a year. He sounds like a very uncaring person.

I worked for a guy who told us we had to work harder and faster — that became quite the joke around the office

Yes, the thing that puzzles me the most is that he was admired by many…. one of life’s mysteries, I guess.
