What does happiness look like to you?
Happy is a freshly-baked batch of oatmeal chocolate chip cookies.
It’s the smiling face of my husband as he rolls out of the recovery room.
Happy are the faces of all the people I love.
It is also the smile on the face of a friend battling cancer, who has a “feel-good” day.
It can be a sunny day or a snow day or even a rainy day. It depends on what you need.
Happy is a messy house filled with grandchildren.
Happy is a clean house when they are gone.
Happy is completing a task. Happiness is starting a new task.
Happy is working in a career you love for many years.
Happy is retirement.
Happy is an abundant harvest.
Happy is a soaking rain, when the earth is dry.
Happy is a good night’s sleep.
It is the voice of a friend you haven’t seen in awhile.

I’m happy reading this. There really are a LOT of reasons to be happy! It’s good to remember this, especially when we have Cabin Fever at this time of year.
