“And that’s the story.”
He looked at me and then at the sign, and then back at me.
“I don’t believe a word of it. It reminds me of an old fable, or a really bad TV movie. There is absolutely no way any of that is true.”
“So you don’t believe me? Not any of it?” I asked.
“Not a chance, babe. Just another story.”
I shrugged my shoulders and turned around walking away from the sign. Believe it or not, I thought to myself.
I guess he’s not the one for me.

Thanks for Rochelle Wisoff Fields for keeping Friday Fictioneers going. This story is what you call writing a story when you have nothing to write. LOL
MMmmm. Now I want to know what the story is!!!

I wonder if she’s ever gonna find a fellow believer?

That was a good test, and well done for walking away.

Aw, that was sad for the person in the story but at least they came to a final conclusion about the guy. Great story.

A novel use of the prompt, and a good way to choose a guy. She’s right to walk away.

Great take, it does not matter what the story was. He either doesn’t trust her, or is not fun enough to play along. Either ways, not worth it 🙂

Clearly, it was not meant to be. Excellent.

You’ve found a lovely, laconic voice for your main character, and you tell the story fluently. Nice writing.

No point going on if there is a lack of trust. Nice use of the prompt.
