It Feels Good

Thanks to Marcy  @ For Your Good Health

She nominated me for the Beautiful Blogger Award!  My first award… so nice!

Here are the rules:

1. Add the image of the award to your blog.

2. Thank the blogger who nominated you and include a link to their blog.

3.  Post seven interesting things about myself.

4. Nominate other bloggers who I feel deserve the award and let them know about the nomination.

Seven Interesting things about Retired Ruth:

1.  I have lived my entire life within 30 miles of where I was born.

2.  There are always songs in my head and I share these songs with my friends when the spirit moves me (much to their delight and/or irritation).

3.  I once had a collection of over 250 pigs.

4.  I love antiques and memorabilia.

5.  I secretly want to be a stand-up comic.

6.  I also secretly want to be a backup singer for any oldies rock group.

7. I have lived on a farm my entire life.

Here are my nominees for the Beautiful Blogger Award.  They are a diverse group of bloggers who entertain me, amaze me, make me laugh, teach me new things, inspire me, and hopefully make me a better blogger by example.

Best wishes to all of the nominees.  If you see your name here before I contact you, please follow the directions and claim your award!

A stand-up comic! Wow! That is a tough row to hoe girl! Have you ever tried Karaoke singing clubs? You could sing and throw in a few one-liners ; – )

Bravo! Congratulations to you! I appreciate your nomination, however I am no longer accepting awards, due to time/energy constraints. “Bahookie” sounds like a wonderful all-purpose word–if I find a poem to use it in, I’ll link back! God bless you–Caddo

  4. Thanks. I did have that many pigs…. at the time my husband, son, and I were raising about 5000 head of REAL pigs per year on our farm in the Midwest.
I would like your permission to use the word “bahookie” please. I love it!
    Keep blogging!

  5. Congratulations on your award Ruth. I think it’s lovely that other bloggers pass these awards on – I think they mean so much when they come from other folks that write. Can I just say you have just made my day. I have been struggling so much of late to write and you gave me the kick up the bahookie I needed (that’s not a Scottish word, just one I made up). Thank you so much for this award. I’m pleased I found you. I’m going to make a wee cup of tea and settle myself in to read some of your posts. I will pass this award on an give you thanks. Meantime did you REALLY have so many pigs?

  6. Congratulations and thanks for the nomination. I live about 400 metres from the house I grew up in, and in my husband’s case – he is at home (his parent’s built our house, lived in it, then bought the family farm next door and moved into it). My in-laws have just bought a smaller house (again right across the road), so we will be moving into the family farm next. Full circle.

Congratulations, Ruth, on this well deserved award. May it validate and encourage all your efforts. I love the fact that you were recently wondering about this blogging business. Looks like the Blog Angels were watching over you!
