The many messages from Bloggers For Peace resonate with the same beliefs. Whether you create a video, a short story, a blog post, a poem, a photo, drawing, or an advertisement, the message is crystal clear.
(A diamante is a diamond-shaped poem using different parts of speech to convey a message.)
Peace
Tranquility, Forgiving
Friendship, Love, Truce, Harmony
Agreeing, Surrendering, Thriving
Hopeful, Tolerant
Unity
I had never heard of a diamanté poem either – I love this. It’s beautiful to read and look at.

Since no one had heard of this form, I did a little research. It was invented in 1969 (a year after I graduated from high school) so that explains why the more mature bloggers may not have heard of this form. Also I learned that mine is not in correct form… it should actually have 7 lines! ooops. There seems to be some misinformation floating around about the poem style also. One source says it can be a synonym style or antonymn style. Another source calls the antonymn style a cinquain….
I believe this source is accurate.

You should absolutely try one because it will be amazing like all of your poetry!
I learned about a lot of different types of poems VERY late in life from a colleague when I was co-teaching high school English to assist my special needs students in the classroom. i don’t know if they are “new” or not, but I know when I was in high school (when dinosaurs roamed the earth) I did not learn about them.

Love this, Ruth. I love the connection between the diamond pendant and the diamante. I also love how “love,” “truce,” and “surrendering” are at the heart of the diamond. {{{Hugs}}} Kozo
